Tours of the Arnstein power plant offer a unique opportunity to look behind the scenes of a hydropower plant and learn more about sustainable electricity generation. Tour participants can look forward to fascinating explanations of the turbines and generators’ technical functionality, which make the visit an educational experience. During the tours, visitors not only receive in-depth information about the power plant’s history and development, but also insights into current projects and future expansions.

Arnstein power plant offers guided tours for interested groups, as well as the Arnstein Learning Garden, an initiative of the Styrian Energy Forum.

The history and future of hydropower

Tucked away in the magical Teigitsch rift valley, the 1920s building exudes romantic charm. Young visitors can experience electricity on a large and small scale in age-appropriate workshops.

Renovations and modernisation freed up a large space in the Arnstein power plant, the former 60 kV switching station. Stations with information on electromagnetism, energy sources, electricity circulation, and photovoltaics make the tour of the power plant an ideal excursion destination for schools.
