Prices 2026
On busy days, the car parks at Schlegeis may become full. In such cases, access by private vehicle will not be possible for several hours. Please purchase your day ticket in advance from our online shop.

2) The toll fee includes parking for the day of entry until midnight. If you are planning a multi-day tour with an overnight stay in a mountain hut, please purchase a parking ticket and place it clearly visible behind the windscreen.
3) Camping prohibited at Schlegeis Reservoir: Please note that camping is not permitted along the entire Schlegeis Alpine Road or in the car parks at Schlegeis Reservoir. If you are planning a multi-day tour with an overnight stay in a mountain hut, please purchase a parking ticket and place it behind the windscreen.
4) Price list for motorhomes: The rate stated above applies for each additional day.
How to get there
Travelling by public transport
We recommend travelling by public transport between June and September. From Mayrhofen train station, take the environmentally friendly 4102 line via Ginzling to the Schlegeis reservoir and back without changing trains.
Travelling by car
The Schlegeis reservoir can only be reached via the toll road Schlegeis Alpenstraße. The route is regulated by traffic lights and the waiting time is 15 to 30 minutes
Car or motorbike: Starting from Mayrhofen, drive via Ginzling along the Zillertalstraße to the Breitlahner toll station. From the toll station, follow the Schlegeis Alpenstraße uphill for about 7 kilometres to the reservoir. Free car parks are located at the front and rear of the site.
Coach: There is a height limit of 3.60 metres and a length limit of 13 metres for all coaches from the Breitlahner mausoleum. On request, the Christophorus Reisen team can organise an ascent with approved coaches. Enquiries by telephone on +43 (0)5285 6060.

How does the online ticket booking work?
Open the ticketshop and select the desired category. In the next step, select your desired day of visit. Then check your selection in the shopping basket and complete the purchase process with the payment
The ticket can be printed out or used digitally at the Breitlahner toll station. We recommend that you take a screenshot of your ticket purchased online and save it. Please note that free parking is included until the end of the respective calendar day.
Multi-day tickets must be selected separately and always printed out and placed behind the windscreen.
Is parking included in the toll?
The parking fee is included in the regular toll ticket until the end of the calendar day. If you park on the Schlegeis for several days or overnight, the printed toll ticket must be placed behind the windscreen of your vehicle. The multi-day fee can be found under the menu item Toll + Parking. Please note that the toll ticket is not valid for the car park at Gasthof Breitlahner
I am not sure whether the online payment process has been completed. What should I do?
If you have not received a confirmation email and your online ticket after completing the payment process, it is likely that the process was cancelled prematurely. Check the transactions already booked on your credit card and whether all requirements for a successful payment (correct entry of data, authorisation of the cardholder, available credit volume, internet connection) are met. If a debit has been made without subsequent confirmation by e-mail/sending of the online ticket, please contact us.
Can I also buy the toll ticket on site?
Yes, tickets are also available at the Breitlahner toll station and at the Nature Park House in Ginzling. Please note, however, that on busy days and without a valid online ticket, we unfortunately cannot guarantee you access from the toll station.
I have a guest card. Do I also get a discount when I buy online?
Yes, holders of a valid Zillertal Active Card, guest cards of the regions Tux-Finkenberg, Mayrhofen, Hippach, Zell-Gerlos and Erste Ferienregion im Zillertal as well as holders of a valid ARBÖ membership card, we are happy to grant a discount.
Please select the point Toll fee guests Zillertal/advantage partners and show the ticket and your advantage card at the Breitlahner toll station. Please note that an online ticket without an advantage card will not be accepted
Can I change my booking at a later date?
A one-off rebooking of your reservation is possible free of charge until 18:00 the day before. Simply open the ticketshop again and click on "Rebooking". Please note that rebooking is no longer possible after 18:00.
What do I do if the road is closed? Can I rebook or cancel my ticket?
In the event of a road closure due to weather-related restrictions (snow, avalanche risk, heavy rain, landslide, rockfall, mudslide, etc.), the ticket can be rebooked once and free of charge. Open the ticketshop and click on "Rebooking". If you do not wish to take advantage of the free rebooking, send us a message with a copy of your ticket (photo or PDF) and your bank details (IBAN and BIC) to tourismus@verbund.com We will usually refund the purchase amount within 10 working days.
